Richard is a retired professional electrician who lives in Orillia near the inspiring shores of Lake Couchiching.

He spent the majority of his career as a rides maintenance electrician at Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan. Once retired, he decided to finally do something with the scraps of paper that he had cobbled into a story over the previous twenty years. Audiences were introduced to protagonist Roger Smith when Dead Bodies Don’t Bleed was published in 2012. From then on, he was on a roll! Further novels in the Roger Smith series were released including Bloodbath in Barranquilla in 2014 and The Pedersen Detective Agency in 2016. In 2017, a new cast of characters was introduced with the release of Invasion and its follow up Fortified, in 2019. Roger Smith and his associates returned with Death of a Hitman in 2018 and New Blood in 2020. Richard’s latest novel, Adrift introduces yet another adventure with special appearances from some familiar faces. Expect two more novels in the very near future!
